How to equip item?
The slots on the bottom of the screen are called hotbar.
Hotbar slots are a shortcuts to items in the inventory.
In order to add shortcut to hotbar and equip item, do:
- open inventory (Human icon->Inventory, or I on PC)
- drag and drop item on hotbar
- close the inventory
- tap entry on hotbar to select (on PC, use keys 1, 2, etc).
Item will be put in your hand. To put it away, tap hotbar slot again.
How to harvest materials?
Harvesting world always requires tools. You can also try to harvesting with bare hand, but it's very inefficient. Each tool has certain harvest chances for each harvestable type.
- axes are useful for harvesting trees
- picks are useful for digging in ground and harvesting ground, sand, rock, sulfur and various types of ore
- knife is useful for harvesting meat and bones from animals
- wrench is useful for harvesting scrap from old ship and plane wrecks
- club is useful for self-defence and animals combat
Later in game you can also build a scrap bench when you can scrap various items into base materials.
How to craft items?
Crafting is a process of making new items out of the other items. In Oxelcraft, there are two methods of crafting items.
Basic items can be crafted in hand. You don't need anything special for that, just make sure you have enough base materials to craft what you want.
Advanced items requires a crafting stand to be created. Crafting stands can be build with hammer. In order to use a crafting stand, approach it and press use key. Select the recipe and start the crafting. Now, you need to wait some time for crafting process to finish. Just come back later to the stand to collect craft results.
How to get food and water?
Food and water are necessary for survival. Let's start with water. To get water, you need:
- drink your soup to get an empty can, or just find an empty can
- equip empty can to hand, go to the ocean and fill it
- now, you can drink it, but it's a bad idea, better first build campfire
- finally, approach campfire, make sure you have some wood, and open campfire recipes and boil the water
- then, drink the boiled water
You can cook meat and potatoes in the similiar way.

- LMB: Attack with item in hand
- RMB: Aim (toggle crosshair and zoom)
- R: Reload gun
- I: Open inventory (then you can drag and drop item shortcuts to hotbar)
- 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6: Activates item from hotbar
- E: Activate/Interact
- F8: Toggle camera
- Tilde ~ ("Console key"): It will free the cursor from the window so you can type in chat
